We are committed to doing more than we have to while maintaining the highest integrity. Our values drive all that we do. We believe in giving back to our community and stand on the principals of servant leadership and maintaining a healthy work-life balance while striving to promote diversity, acceptance, and respect in all interactions.
Ways We Give
At the heart of community pharmacy is community. QS/1 and its staff donate hundreds of hours each year to various projects aimed at improving the communities where we work, live, and thrive. Every day, QS/1 employees team up with the local Mobile Meals to deliver lunch to senior citizens and home-bound residents. Our efforts not only feed the body, but also feed the soul.
Our founder instilled the culture of community care. We hope you will join us in finding ways to give back to your community. Together, we can make a difference.
Paying It Forward
You're a familiar face when patients need it, a source of advice and attention, and we applaud the comfort you provide people every day.
But your pharmacy work is only one part of who you are – and we’re here to help you invest in those other things that matter to you. We build our systems to give you back some time. And we focus our own giveaways on your passions.
Have you heard about our ongoing $1,500 giveaways to your favorite charities?
Jo Ann Blackwell is a child of the 60’s – a “long, long time ago in a different century” she jokes. We’re glad she brought her flower power to QS/1 in 2006, becoming certified to support the pharmacy systems and Point-of-Sale. She’s a Ranger in Client Services now and likes her work.
Free spirit showing, Jo Ann created a “before I turned 50” bucket list, and she’s been able to mark skydiving, getting tattoos, and going to New Orleans off the list. She loves to work in her yard and to read, and not everyone may know that she’s also a creative writer.
Jo Ann says, “I do enjoy the work I am doing now – helping my customers as well as my fellow customer service reps.” Sounds like things are still groovy.
Mitchell is a client services technician and has worked in customer service since high school, from grocery and retail to vacation rentals, makeup, and coffee. So, it’s natural to find him successfully working as a client services technician. Mitchell says the most fulfilling part of his job is getting good customer survey scores and “seeing customers' needs be met and problems be solved.”
Mitchell grew up in Spartanburg, leaving to attend Coastal Carolina University for a business management degree and lots of beach time, before returning in 2017. In his free time, he likes to play video games or eat. “A secret talent of mine would be the ability to eat at Chipotle for multiple meals in a day and not grow tired of their food,” he joked. He also enjoys taking day trips and exploring new places.
Wade is a senior hardware technician and self-described tech geek who loves strategy games, whether it’s Final Fantasy 7 or chess. He’s owned every video-game system from the first Nintendo to the current PS4 and beaten hundreds of games. Figuring out computer issues stimulates his brain in a similar way. “I like to take a complex issue that a customer may have been having for months and try to solve it like a puzzle.” So, it’s not a big surprise to find him working happily as a senior hardware technician in our Regional Support Center in Sturbridge, MA.
When he’s not at work, he’s generally with his girlfriend since high school and French Bulldog, Buddy. They like to hike, bike, kayak, watch movies, hang out with friends, and travel. Wade’s latest interest is the stock market, and after intense online research and listening to audiobooks while driving, he opened a couple of accounts and had a lot of success. “I find it fun because it seems like another strategy game to me.” He also hopes it will help with his goal to travel around the world.
Himesh, our in-house graphic designer, is new to QS/1 and his impact is already very visible – just check out the illustrations on the new QS/1 website. Originally from India, Himesh graduated from East Carolina University, worked in design positions in New York City, owned a retail store for more than a decade, and was a graphic artist for a major grocery store chain. He is passionate about design and works to create a “wow” moment in every project.
Himesh enjoys playing Scrabble with his family, collecting vinyl records from the 80’s, and hiking the Upstate’s great outdoors.
